The Chargers closed out 2018 with a visit to Anthem Prep.
The game started very slow for both teams, as the Chargers managed just 2 points and the Eagles just 4 points. It was a defensive battle the entire way.
The pace picked up over the next 16 minutes and both teams finally began to put some points on the board. Going into the 4th quarter the Chargers held a 2 point lead at 26-24. The lead would have been 5 points, but the Eagles were able to hit a half-court shot at the buzzer to cut the lead to 2. This slowed the momentum the Chargers begin building and affected their play.
The Chargers were not able to get back on track as they were outscored 14-6 in the final quarter and ended up dropping the game 38-32.
The Chargers were led by Matt McClelland with 11 points. Owen Kremer added 9 points, 10 rebounds and 9 steals.
