Congratulations goes out to our 2020 Chargers of the Year.

The recipients of this award have not only displayed outstanding athletic performance in their sport, but have embraced the ideals of the Arete Prep culture and community. They have displayed a great attitude and put forth tremendous effort on the field of play and have exemplified extraordinary character toward their community and academic life.

The award recipients were first nominated by their coaches and then the student-athlete’s character, attitude, and academic performance were examined. This rigorous selection process is what makes this award unique and very, very special. I want to give a special thank you to our community partners at CarLife and owner Jeff Bried, for their continued support of our Charger of the Week and Charger of the Year Award programs.

He earned 2nd team all region honors in basketball, helping the Chargers to back to back elite 8 appearances. This spring, Matthew would have made an appearance at the state golf tournament, while still finding time to pitch and play middle infield for our varsity baseball team.
