Coed Varsity Swimming · State Swim Results: Zajdzinski Defends Two State Titles

Arete Prep swimmers competed at the AIA DIII State Swim Finals at PCDS on Friday. Senior Amanda Zajdzinski capped her Charger career by defending her two state titles from 2018, in the 200 and 500 freestyle races. She also earned a return trip to the “Meet of Champions” this morning (11/9) beginning at 9am at Skyline Aquatic Center (845 S. Crismon Rd. Mesa).

Junior Luke Nicholas also qualified for the Meet of Champions, by placing 2nd in the 100 fly.

Sophomore Georgia Sterling capped a very successful season with a 4th place finish in the 100 fly. She was also a member of the 3rd place 400 relay, which included Zajdzinksi, Jana Steinborn, and Amariah Elefson.

Overall, the girls team finished 8th out of 30 DIII teams. Outstanding season Chargers and Coach Cook! Good luck to Mandy and Luke today at the Meet of Champions!
