Coed Varsity Track · Varsity Track Weekend Results

Arete Prep Track and Field had another strong weekend.  This week it started on Friday night at the Arcadia Invitational in California.  Adam Whitehead competed against some of the top runners in the country and in the process set a new school record in the 3200m.  We followed that up on Saturday with the Knights of Columbus meet on the brand new track at Bourgade HS.  Here are a few of the performances from the meet…

Jack Spano PR by over 2ft in the shot put while also getting a PR in the Javelin, Gio Cervantes broke the 5 minute mark in the 1600m with a time of 4:58, Madelyn Kremer crushed both her PR’s in the 100m and 200m along with a great 4×4 relay split, Bryn Hager had a double PR day with her races in the 800m and 1600m, Chris Akpede ran a state provisional qualifying time, and new PR, in the 200m, Chase Hampton continues to lower his PR in the 400m with a time of 52.81, Christian Moeller PR’ed by over a minute the 3200m, Ty Mellor ran back to back PR’s in the 110m and 300m hurdles, and Chloe Stoops threw a PR of 86-4 to keep her in the top 10 in the state.  So many great performances from the Chargers this weekend, and we are inching closer to having many of our athletes qualify for the state meet.
