Play was pretty even in the first half, with each team netting a goal for a 1-1 halftime score line. Rachel Garver scored the 1st half Charger goal. The Lightning took the lead 10 minutes into the half when a GK punt sent their forward on a breakaway and she calmly finished for a 2-1 lead. Isabella Neyra leveled the game for the Chargers as she broke through a few tackles and coverted from about 8 yards out. Great effort from both teams!

After a slow start in the first half where few shots were taken by either team and most of the play went back and forth, Arete came out charging and scored 4 goals in the second half to get the win. Liam Whitehead scored first on a nice cross by Andres Davidson in the 4th minute of the second half. Arete had to get aggressive on defense as Lincoln kept driving, but strong defensive play by Elijah Forbes and Seth Youkhama kept Lincoln from getting too close. Derrick Ruiz got the second goal with a line drive into the back of the net. Liam Whitehead scored again with a nice shot that found the net after the ball bounced around a few times in front of the goal. Excellent passing in the midfield between Garrett Vensel, Brinton Nelson and Owen Whitehead led to Owen making a sweet move that turned into a breakaway and a fine finish. Strong work at goalkeeper in the 2nd half from Prahlad Rattan kept the shutout. Every teammate contributed to the win with strong play and great attitudes.
